25lb Mk3 late late war

The 25lb gun howitzer Mk3, identifiable by the muzzle brake fitted to the barrel  designed to reduce the shock transmitted to the carriage  when firing supercharge rounds . This gun came into service during the mid to late war period and equipped Field artillery regiments in North West Europe and Italy . The 25lb gun had a devastating effect on German morale in Normandy. Because of its high rate of fire (up to 17 rounds per minute) it was believed  by the Germans to have been  magazine fed.
