Late War British infantry North West Europe 1944 - 1945

The biggest cause of casualties in WW2 was  through mortar and artillery fire. Unlike other nations,  British infantry were sent into Normandy equipped with full size Spades and Pick axes so they could quickly “get below grade” to protect themselves. Troops often discarded useless equipment  in battle but the fact is these tools were very effective in saving lives, so much so that they were still being carried by British infantry as late as 1945.

Pithead miniatures are one of the only companies producing authentic late war British infantry and the range of poses available in this set  is unrivaled in this scale. Great care has been taken to reduce the size of the bodies and heads to more realistic human proportions with these figures while at the same time maintaining essential details like realistic camouflaged helmets and equipment.
